The "Divya Jain Standard": Why We Refuse to Use "Generic" Materials (And Why You Should Too)

The "Divya Jain Standard": Why We Refuse to Use "Generic" Materials (And Why You Should Too)

You have three quotes on your table for your new home in Pune.

Two of them are surprisingly low. One of them (ours) is strictly based on market standards.

It is tempting to go with the lowest number. After all, the quote says "Premium Plywood" and "High Quality Wires," right?

But here is the hard truth we have learned after years in this industry: "Generic" is the most expensive word in interior design.

A generic quote hides cost-cutting measures that will cost you double in repairs within 3 years.

At Divya Jain Interiors, we believe in radical transparency. We don't just tell you we provide "Quality"; we list the Brand, the Grade, and the Guarantee.

We call this The Divya Jain Standard. The 4 Pillars of a Safe & Durable Home

When you sign with us, you aren't just paying for design; you are paying for the peace of mind that comes with these four non-negotiable standards.

1.    The Lungs of Your Home: Wiring

The "Cheap" Way: Many contractors use local, unbranded wires to save

₹15,000–₹20,000 on a project. These overheat easily and carry high fire risk.

The Divya Jain Standard: We use ONLY Polycab FR-LSH (Fire Retardant - Low Smoke Zero Halogen) wires.

Why it matters: Safety is not an upgrade. In case of a short circuit, these wires do not catch fire easily and emit minimal smoke, giving your family crucial time.

2.    The Skeleton: Plywood

The "Cheap" Way: Quotes that say "Commercial Ply" or "MR Grade" (Moisture Resistant). In Pune's climate, "Moisture Resistant" is often not enough to stop termites or swelling in kitchens/bathrooms.

The Divya Jain Standard: We use ISI 710 Grade BWR / BWP (Boiling Water Proof) Plywood.

Why it matters: This is the gold standard. You can literally boil this plywood in water, and it won't disintegrate. It is your primary defense against the termites and moisture issues common in Pune apartments.

3.    The Sky: False Ceiling

The "Cheap" Way: Using local Plaster of Paris (POP) or unbranded gypsum channels. These tend to sag and crack within 1-2 years due to building vibrations.

The Divya Jain Standard: We use Saint Gobain Gypsum systems.

Why it matters: Saint Gobain is the world leader in ceilings. Their system ensures a perfectly leveled, crack-free finish that lasts as long as the building.

4.    The Shield: Waterproofing

The "Cheap" Way: Relying on the builder's default waterproofing or doing a basic cement wash.

The Divya Jain Standard: We use Asian Paints SmartCare solutions for critical wet areas.

Why it matters: Leakage is a nightmare that ruins expensive cabinets and neighbor relationships. SmartCare provides a chemically bonded shield against water.

The "Hidden Cost" of a Cheap Quote Let's break down the math.

Scenario A (Generic Quote): You save ₹1.5 Lakhs today. Year 2: Kitchen laminate starts peeling (Repair: ₹15,000)

Year 3: Termites attack the wardrobe backing (Replacement: ₹80,000) Year 4: False ceiling develops cracks (Repainting/Patching: ₹25,000) Total Stress: Infinite.

Scenario B (The Divya Jain Standard): You invest in quality today. Year 2, 3, 4, and 10: You enjoy your home.

Plus, you get Manufacturer Warranties on these branded materials that a local contractor cannot offer.

Red Flags: How to Spot a "Trap" Quote

When you are comparing our quote with others, look for these specific red flags in their Bill of Quantities (BOQ):

🚩 Red Flag: "Good Quality Plywood"

The Standard: Should specify "Century/Greenply/Equivalent ISI 710 Grade"

🚩 Red Flag: "Branded Wires"

The Standard: Should specify "Polycab / Havells FR Grade"

🚩 Red Flag: "Acrylic Emulsion Paint"

The Standard: Should specify "Asian Paints Royale / Dulux Velvet Touch"

🚩 Red Flag: "Standard Channels"

The Standard: Should specify "Hettich / Hafele Telescopic Channels" Our Promise to You

At Divya Jain Interiors, we sleep well at night knowing our clients are safe.

We invite you to visit our current sites in Baner, Wakad, or Kharadi. Don't just look at the finished photos—come look at the raw materials.

Come see the Polycab wires and the ISI 710 stamps on the plywood yourself. That is the difference between a "Contractor" and a "Certified Expert."
